Can we trust MCA, Gerakan???

Bersih being used by the opposition for their agenda, says Chua

KAMPAR: The organiser of the Coalition for Free and Fair Elections (Bersih) rally is being used by the opposition parties to achieve its political agenda, said MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

“Bersih started out as a non-governmental organisation to express concerns over irregularities in the electoral process.

“However, it is now being infiltrated and influenced by opposition leaders to gain political mileage.

“They are trying to stoke the emotions of the people and create feelings of hatred against the Government,” Dr Chua said after opening the Kampar MCA division annual general meeting here yesterday.

He said MCA was firm in its stand not to support such illegal rallies as they disrupted peace and harmony of the society, adding that the party also backed MCA Youth chief Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong's decision against participating in a rally planned by Umno Youth on the same date.

Earlier in his speech, Dr Chua urged party leaders and members to get closer to the people.

“I observed that during programmes organised by the MCA, only party members and supporters were present.

“We failed to attract non-members and the public,” he said.

Citing an example, Dr Chua said when he was campaigning in the Batu Sapi by-election, he approached a voter and asked him why he had supported the DAP.

The voter told him that the DAP showed more concern for the welfare of the people.

“This voter said the Barisan representative only visited their areas twice a year during festive season.

“On the other hand, the opposition representative often go to the ground,” he said, adding that such an action had caused the people to think that Barisan did not need them.

Are we sleeping with the enemy? This is because most of the times, the statement given by MCA leaders or Gerakan leaders sounds so much like they are coming from DAP leaders.

MCA also admitted their weaknesses in attracting the public to them as DAP showed more concern for the welfare of the people.

MCA had also not shown any good results in the last general election and they certainly have not improved in attracting the Chinese to them.

Is this blatant sabotage by MCA so that Barisan Nasional will lose more seat in the forthcoming general election?

If this is, UMNO should seriously think about other ways to win the general election because it does not feel like the other component parties are working hard to ensure BN wins.

Any members of the component parties caught in the Bersih rally should be kicked out from their respective parties.

The Chinese are hand in hand and the Malay are fighting tooth and nail with each other.

  3. Sdr Wake up,
Bagi saya, bersama mca dan gerakan pun tak bawak apa apa makna.... SAMA MACAM TIADA GANDINGAN...MALAHAN SOKONG MEMBAWA REBAH PULA. PALING BAIK.... MENANGI SEMULA HATI SEMUA rakyat bumiputera / peribumi. Itu sahaja alternatif yang baik. Kalau dilihat balik keadaan sekarang .... sesama bumiputera pun susah nak harap... apa lagi non bumiputera.

  4. Bro/Sis Anon 3:50 PM.

Say whatever that is on your mind. Heck! This is a free country after all. If the racists Chinese can swear at the Malays as much as they want, we can do that as well.

However, I will not be held responsible to whatever that you have to say. The comment is solely the private opinion of the author.
