Probe into rally incursion
JOHOR BARU: The police are investigating how some of those restricted from coming to the Bersih rally in Kuala Lumpur managed to slip through.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said those found to have disregarded the restriction order would be investigated.
“Anyone found guilty of failing to adhere to the restriction order will face legal action, regardless of their political affiliation,” he after handing out certificates to members of 1,024 Police Undergraduate Voluntary Corps at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia here yesterday.
Among the 91 people barred from entering certain parts of Kuala Lumpur on Saturday were Bersih 2.0 chairman Datuk S. Ambiga, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, his deputy Mohamad Sabu, PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and PKR vice-president Tian Chua.
Many of them were picked up at several areas in the city during the rally.
Ismail said the police had recorded the statements of those detained and they had been released on police bail.
He also said he would let the public judge the police action against the demonstrators.
“The rally organisers did not obtain any permit and the police were only trying to uphold the peace.
“Our officers have been given adequate training to handle such situations and they acted professionally and according to the law.
“If any police personnel is found to have gone against the standard operating procedures, I will investigate the matter myself,” Ismail added.

This is not something that is extraordinary. They were boarding the komuter, lrt and monorail.
I was there on the same public transportation to go to the Perkasa event, so I knew.
Next time, the public transportation too must be shut down so that if they are really fighters, they have to walk from their home. See if they really have the resolve to do that!
6 busses from Johor which carried Perkasa members had been stopped at Putrajaya. Why can't they be resourceful and do whatever it takes to reach the Stadium Titiwangsa?
We are really defeated by the PAS and PKR members when it comes to the desire to do something.
If you are afraid to die in a riot, then don't come in the first place. It is so shameful that the reporters who arrive at the stadium makes up like 10-20 of the people there.
And some of the shameless motherfucker arrive late and have the nerve to be in front when they asked all to group up to take the photos. Stupid a$$hole!
I am not someone 'gila glamer' so I was not in the picture even though I was among the first batch to arrive there. And I totally despise the GG type of people.
You know who you are!
