DAP can change the constitution if they have the number

PM: Islam's position clear in Federal Constitution

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said everyone must accept the fact that Islam is the official religion of the country and that it cannot be changed in whatever form.

"This is because the reality is that we have the Federal Constitution, and its provision on the position of Islam and the other religions is very clear," Najib told the media after meeting with 22 Muslim leaders and intellectuals, here Wednesday.

"Under whatever circumstances, the Federal Constitution cannot be amended and as such, no one should be worried or feel uneasy on this matter," he said.

Najib said that during his hour-long meeting with the Muslim leaders, several current issues were discussed including the issue on 'changing' the official religion of the country as reported earlier.

"I normally meet with the Muslim leaders from time to time. But under the present circumstances, it is most important for me to meet this group and discuss the issue as well as other things," he said. - Bernama

The total number of seats for the Parliament is 222. To gain 2/3 majority, you have to have 148 seats. And for simple majority, you have to have 112 seats.

Let's say that BN loses simple majority. And now 2/3 majority is held by all the non-Muslims, don't you think that it is possible for them to change the constitution?

I am not trying to scare anyone here, but the reality is in the number of seats that will be held. Are we sure that we are going to win 2/3 or even simple majority in the 13th General Election since the trend where the Chinese voters are supporting DAP in Sarawak can be seen clearly!

We could be hanging by a thread here. If you want to be sure of whether BN can still govern, let's have an online poll first to see if Malaysians are still voting for Barisan Nasional.

I am a hard-core UMNO supporter so you can be sure to get my vote, but I can't say the same about everyone else.

  2. Bro/Sis Snuze. :-| Now I'm feeling that UMNO will lose big time after witnessing for myself the burning desire of the supporters from PAS and PKR in the BerSHIT rally.

Say whatever that is on your mind. Heck! This is a free country after all. If the racists Chinese can swear at the Malays as much as they want, we can do that as well.

However, I will not be held responsible to whatever that you have to say. The comment is solely the private opinion of the author.
