Malayan Tigers to go for the kill
SINGAPORE, July 22 - Malaysia will go in for the kill and will not be bothered by previous records when they meet Singapore in first leg of the second round of the 2014 World Cup Asian Zone Qualifier tomorrow.
Coach Datuk K. Rajagobal said he was very happy with the Malayan Tigers' form but declined to compare the achievements of previous national teams with the present one.
"One must understand that we have a different situation and a different set of players. We only have to think about what we are going to do tomorrow, not the past track record,” he told reporters at a hotel here today.
Rajagobal said the Tigers were aiming to win the away match at the Jalan Besar Stadium with the players being told give their 100 per cent commitment and go for the kill whenever the opportunity arises.
He said, however, Malaysia would never underestimate their arch-rivals who deserve the respect.
For Malayan Tigers captain Shafiq Rahim, he and his team-mates had set their minds to qualify to the next round.
Despite Malaysia and Singapore had not played against each other for the past three years, he said the players were high in spirit and were resolved to deliver in the crucial match.
He said the Tigers picked up the pieces after their disastrous 1-5 defeat at the hands of Indonesia in the AFF Suzuki Cup campaign in Jakarta in December last year and had since improved their spirit and resilience.
While admitting that the pressure on his side is mounting, Shafiq vowed to create another football history for the country.
Singapore coach Radojko Avramovic said after watching videos on Malaysian teams performance in the World Cup preliminary rounds and international friendlies, he felt the Lions could capitalise on the Tigers” flaws.
Singapore captain Shahril Ishak said his team would take the advantage of their home ground advantage to deny Malaysia the victory.
"It will be an interesting encounter,” he said. - Bernama
I have confidence that Harimau Malaya will succeed against Singapore.
What do you guys think?
Lions 5 Tigers 3 Bro.
ReplyDeleteHope Tigers will win on thursday and move to next round. What do you think?
anisah. Harimau Malaya dah hilang taring...
Hope Rajagobal realise these factor. Anyway I hope Tigers will kill the Lions then. See you...
ReplyDeleteanisah. Anything is possible. Malaysian sportsmen and sportswomen should also use mind control to imagine that they are winning the game. It's been used by successful sportsmen/women overseas.
